On Saturday, April 18, the Archie Griffin Ballroom at the Ohio Union transformed into a vibrant showcase of artistry, innovation, and community as the Fashion Production Association presented “ART OF FASHION, A Night at the Gallery.”
The event brought together students, faculty, alumni, and supporters for an unforgettable evening—and Phi Upsilon Omicron was proudly represented throughout every part of the production.

Several Phi U collegiate members played key roles in planning, coordinating, and executing the show. From behind‑the‑scenes production to modeling on the runway, their dedication helped bring the event to life.
A beautifully curated Silent Auction—organized entirely by students—featured an array of themed baskets and unique items. Thanks to the generosity of attendees and the hard work of the student team, the auction raised an impressive $2,380 for scholarships.
The heart of the evening belonged to the eighteen student designers who each introduced their collections through short video presentations before their garments appeared on the runway. Every collection showcased:
Bold creativity
Innovative fabric combinations
Thoughtful embellishments
Distinct artistic perspectives
Each designer presented three to four garments, creating a dynamic and visually stunning celebration of student talent.
One of the highlights of the night was seeing Jan Bonner, Past President and Membership Chair of the Gamma Alumni Chapter, confidently “strut” down the runway in a custom design created by Phi U member and graduate student Carolyn Ready. Their collaboration was a beautiful example of the intergenerational connection and support that defines the Phi U community.
The success of the show was also made possible by the dedicated advisors who guide and mentor the Fashion Production Association:
Alex Suer, Senior Lecturer in Apparel Product Development, Retail Studies
Dr. Nancy Rudd, Professor Emeritus and Design Advisor
Carolyn Ready, Construction Workshop Advisor
Their expertise and encouragement continue to elevate the work of student designers and production teams year after year. We are so proud of our Phi U members and hope everyone will attend next year’s show!!
