🎄 Another Successful, Fun Holiday Brunch and Auction Event!
The Phi Upsilon Omicron Gamma Chapter Alumni gathered once again for a heartwarming tradition—the annual Holiday Brunch and Auction—held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Worthington Presbyterian Church. With 58 alumni, Gamma students, and guests in attendance, the event raised an impressive $3,484.25 through spirited bidding, Buy-It-Now purchases, and generous donations. Even those unable to attend contributed, ensuring strong support for student scholarships and professional projects.
☕ A Morning of Fellowship and Festive Finds
The morning kicked off at 9:30 a.m. with a lively social hour. Guests browsed silent auction items, scooped up goodies at the Buy-It-Now tables, and reconnected with friends old and new. The tables were brimming with treasures—chocolate candies, candy buckeyes, handmade soaps, jewelry, recipe books, and more.
🥐 Brunch with a Side of Cheer
The Presbyterian Women’s Group served a delicious breakfast buffet featuring meat and vegetarian quiches, fresh fruit, and an array of breakfast breads and rolls. Each place setting included a sweet apple-cranberry dessert. Festive centerpieces of gold trees, pinecones, and greenery, along with colorful napkins and placemats, added a joyful touch to every table.
🎁 Auction Highlights and Heartfelt Giving
The live auction brought energy and laughter to the room, with enthusiastic bidding on beloved favorites like cinnamon and pecan rolls, pecan pies, cheese balls, cookies, and Sharla’s famous sweet dill pickles. Unique offerings included Jan’s chocolate torte, themed hostess gifts, and a standout Olaf-themed package from Disney’s Frozen, which Jo Ellen snagged for her granddaughter.
A creative egg-themed bundle—featuring fresh eggs from Susan and Tom Shockey's home-raised chickens—was another crowd favorite. Collegiate members contributed auction items as well, earning $280 from their sales.
🙌 Gratitude and Looking Ahead
We were delighted to welcome several Gamma collegiates and guests. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all donors, bidders, and supporters—especially those who gave from afar. Special appreciation to our event co-chairs, Alice Miskell and Norma Pitts, and committee members Sharla House, Michele Eastlake, Connie Cahill, Ella Mae Bard, Joyce Smith, and Kathryn Wood for their dedication and creativity. Thanks also to Aaron Winkel, our treasurer, for managing the financial details with care.
