Building Connections Through Etiquette: Phi U & Legacy Middle School at the Ohio Union

Etiquette Lunch with Legacy Academy: Building Confidence Through Dining

On Wednesday, December 3, Phi Upsilon Omicron members welcomed twelve middle school students and two administrators from Legacy Academy Middle School to the Ohio Union Instructional Kitchen for a festive and informative etiquette lunch led by Dr. Ann Paulins.

🍽 A Proper Meal, A Practical Lesson

Beginning at noon, participants enjoyed a full meal designed to teach confidence in formal dining situations. From navigating place settings to practicing polite conversation, the lunch offered hands-on instruction in etiquette that students can carry into academic, professional, and social settings.

🤝 Professional Project Partners

This event marked an important step in our ongoing partnership with Legacy Academy. The students who joined us will also be participating in our spring service project events, making this lunch a meaningful opportunity to connect, build relationships, and set the stage for future collaboration.

🌟 A Gift of Opportunity

Though the value of the meal was approximately $40 per person, a generous benefactor made it possible for us to offer this program at no cost to our guests. Their support allowed us to focus on what matters most—mentorship, education, and community connection.

📸 Memories Made at the Table

The etiquette lunch was more than a meal; it was a celebration of learning and outreach. With smiles shared across tables, the event reinforced Phi U’s commitment to leadership, service, and fostering confidence in every setting.
